Volunteers are the very backbone of our ability to carry out the Foundation’s mission. We call our volunteers “Lakes Park Ambassadors” because of their tendency to share their passion and knowledge with park visitors.
Individuals wishing to volunteer at Lakes Park please click here to be directed to the Lee County website.
We’re also eager to work with organizations such as schools, businesses, youth groups, and religious organizations seeking community service opportunities. Email us at Info@LakesPark.org for more information on any of the opportunities below.
Popular volunteer assignments include:
They like plants.
They enjoy cultivating the gardens, propagating and selling new plants, learning from one another, and leading garden tours.
They like people.
They enjoy talking to people and providing park and Foundation information at the Nest and at the Farmer’s Market.
They like Halloween.
They can assist in the planning and execution of the event and help run the voting process at Scarecrows in the Park. Costumes optional (but highly encouraged!).
They like tour-guiding.
They know the gardens and the park! They lead on-foot tours of the gardens for plant lovers, or EZ Rider golf cart tours that make it easier to to get around the park’s 279 acres.
They like birding.
They offer walking tours of the park year-round, count and report on bird populations, and know where all the cool birds hang out.
