Message from the President
2025!

Another year has come & gone.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe it.
Do you remember when we turned the Millennium? Y2K?
I remember exactly where I was when we celebrated the year 2000. I was on Fort Myers Beach with many of my friends at one of the famous beach cottages at the Pink Shell Resort.
Progress has replaced those cottages with high-rise buildings, and progress has brought us to where we are today, with a financially thriving foundation and a dedicated Board of Directors.
I want to thank our Board of Directors personally. We are now 13 members strong, and the enthusiasm among these members makes me want to lead them toward great things.
It wasn’t so long ago, after COVID, that we were down to four people. Additionally, we had lost our Executive Director, and we were floundering. For a moment, I thought we wouldn’t make it, but here we are today, stronger than ever. Our programs are back, the Gardens are a thing of wonder, and your strong commitment as Donors has given us the means to do so much more in the Park we all love.
Together with the board of directors, volunteers, donors, and park staff, we work to improve the lives of everyone who loves Lakes Park.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
May you all have a Healthy and Happy New Year filled with Peace and Love

Sue Moore and her son visit one of Sue’s places at Lakes Park.
The Children’s Garden was her inspiration and she worked hard to make it a reality.
